At 10″ long and 4″ wide, this DMT® diamond bench stone is the largest diamond bench stone we carry.

DMT diamond sharpeners are well-known for their superior quality and versatility. Engineered to be flattest sharpeners on the market, they are easy-to-use, produce consistent results and sharpen in a fraction of the time required by other methods. The extra-large diamond surfaces of this double-sided 10″ x 4″ DuoSharp® stone features DMT’s famous interrupted diamond surface. The surface sharpens very quickly because the metal filings are quickly removed from the sharpening surface. The extra-large flat surface works well when you are sharpening large tools or if you just prefer the ease of using a larger sharpening surface. A non-skid mat is included with every diamond stone. Available in the following grit combinations: Extra-Fine/Fine Grit, Fine/Coarse Grit, Extra-Fine/Coarse and Coarse/Extra-Coarse Grit.

Uses

The 10″ diamond stone is versatile because it can sharpen almost any size tool. The large size gives it the ability to sharpen tools as large as an axe without any trouble. However, the large size of this stone is not just limited to large tools. The long length of this tool allows for much longer controlled strokes with even small knives. The long strokes promote fast and easier sharpening.

Advice

The extra coarse/coarse stone is my absolute favorite stone when it comes to sharpening a heavily nicked edge or flattening the back of a chisel or plane iron. Because the diamonds cut so quickly, this stone is a real time saver. If you can afford to splurge on a stone, this one is great to have around. ~John
